And the winners are…

In September we sent out a call for proposals, looking for researchers and academics that would leverage AI to speed up the RISC-V software ecosystem. Grant recipients would receive Gemini compute credits up to $50k USD and the opportunity to collaborate with the RISC-V Software Ecosystem Project (RISE) and RISC-V International on their research to drive positive impact for the ecosystem.

After careful consideration and review of all applicants by a panel of experts at RISC-V International, we’re excited to announce a series of grant recipients. We strongly believe each will help further the AI ecosystem in a new and compelling way, helping AI and RISC-V grow in one or all of the following areas:

  • Innovative Research: Create new AI-driven methods to speed up software porting, from new algorithms and fine-tuned models to agentic approaches.
  • Essential Tooling: Build generalizable tools and infrastructure like test suite generators, simulators, or formal verification systems that accelerate the RISC-V porting process.
  • Critical Progress: Directly port key software, especially for server use cases, to make a significant, immediate impact on the RISC-V ecosystem.

Without further ado, let’s congratulate our winners:

We are proud to support these researchers as they help unlock new possibilities for the RISC-V ecosystem and AI. Hurrah!
