RISE Working Groups

A RISE Work Group focuses on a specific category of interest. WGs are formed by the RISE TSC and are responsible for:

  • Coming up with projects to propose to the Board for investment.

  • Managing proposed project requirements, timelines, and where appropriate project plan.

  • For net-new project investments (not contributions to existing projects upstream), leading the project execution.

See the Ways of Working document on how a WG operates.

Working Group Consolidation Update

Following approval by the RISE Board and Technical Steering Committee (TSC), the RISE Working Group structure will transition to five consolidated Working Groups effective June 25, 2026:

  • Enablement / Optimization Working Group

  • Developer Tooling Working Group

  • Platform Working Group

  • AI/ML Working Group

  • Bare Metal Working Group

The consolidated Working Groups bring together related technical areas to improve collaboration, coordination, and project planning across RISE. Existing technical areas, documentation, and project resources will continue to be maintained within their respective consolidated Working Groups.

Mailing lists will transition to the new consolidated Working Group structure on June 25, 2026. Additional information on the consolidated Working Groups, Working Areas, leadership, mailing lists, and related resources can be found on the RISE wiki.
